  1. I haven’t litened to the latest podcast yet. But, my wife & i both upgraded our iPhones with the past 3-4 wks.

She had an iPh 6 16GB, & I had an iPh 6s Plus 128GB. We just both got an iPh 7 Plus (both 256GB…hers rose gold & mine red). I talked my wife into getting a bigger size iPh.

I was debating on getting an iPh 8 Plus, but I knew my wife wouldn’t go for an iPh 8 Plus…she was convinced of getting the Plus size iPh because it’s not that much larger & had better features & performance, but getting the 8 Plus would b pushing it to say the least.

I also taked her into getting the 256GB like me, so she could use it as an iPod. (I still like / prefer to use my iPod Classic 160GB intstead of using my iPh for that purpose.)

The main reason for my comment(s) is that I decided to get the 7 Plus, not so much because of the extra cost, but because the back is glass!!!…AND there were less colors. In the past, I initially got the black model. But for the last 2 or 3 iPh upgrades, I got the gold / white model.

It was nice to get something other than the usual, which is why I picked the red this year. The new iPh 8 Plus is ONLY available in the usual colors, which was another downer. (Even tho I also put my iPh in a Speck “grip” case, I still like to pick a color for the iPh.)

I know every year they say the glass is stronger than last year’s models, yet every year, MANY bring their iPh to Apple stores or other places to get the glass replaced. Now u have to worry about cracking and/or replaceing BOTH the front AND the back??? No thank u!!!

The iPh 7 Plus has dual lens like the iPhone 8 Plus & X, so we plan on sticking with this iPh 7 Plus for awhile. We both r VERY happy with the iPh 7 Plus. I’ve never really used the iPh for photography, even though I shoot photos for a living. My wife tried to use her iPh 6 16GB for photos, but was ALWAYS running out of space. I m glad they got rid of the 16GB!!! That size should have disappeared long b4 he 32GB, but now that the 64GB is the base size, that sounds like what it should have been long time ago.

    Thanx for a great podcast.

  2. Another reason why I got the iPh 7 Plus instead of the iPh 8 is because the iPh 8 will ONLY accept iOS 11.

However, because I have had an iPh since the iPh 4 (owned every iPh since the iPh 4, except the 5c & 6), I have so many apps I need & want, that r NOT iOS 11 compatible.

So I needed to b able to install iOS 10 (10.3.3), so I would not lose data in the older apps. This would also give me time to go thru my apps, decide which apps I still want to keep, then find apps to replace them that ARE iOS 11 compatible….and/or contact developers to c if they r working on iOS 11 versions, or had abandoned the app(s).
